Ways To Remove Dust At Home

July 26th, 2010 · No Comments

Dust has this unexplainable tendency of settling on things very fast and most people hate dusting all the time.

What is real is that it keeps you dusting away every day without fail; so the only thing worth adjusting is how fast you can do the dusting. Here are a few tips to make you work faster.

To begin with, when dusting rooms, dust from the top down. So this means you will begin with removal of cobwebs from the ceiling and then do the high shelves, down to tables and then finish with the seats.

It makes a lot of sense since dust likes to settle on things after it has been stirred up, therefore it would be needless to dust the items at the lowest level of the room before doing the ones higher up. After finishing with the items in the room then vacuum the floor.

Another method is to make use of a wet cloth while dusting instead of a dry one. Dry cloth will only serve to stir up the dust instead of collecting it the same way a wet cloth would.

The material used can be slightly wet but not soaked. Just take care that if the cloth becomes too dirty, then a second one may be used to finish the job.

To minimize the dust one can make use of an air filter, which helps to reduce dust particles. If you are not a smoker, it will also reduce the amount of dust in the room. Also take steps to open the windows and keep airing the place every now and then because this way only very little dust can settle around.

If there are too many small items lying around, they may increase dust, so reduce the clutter. If too much dust has settled on an item it shows that you have not been using it so get it out of there.
